See through the surface, diagnose better, and improve the Earth efficiently.

With Cordillera Geo-Services, explore the surface and subsurface through non-invasive methods to detect sources of contamination, characterize waste distribution, and monitor remediation efforts.

To remediate the mess we make when interacting with soil and water, you need to see below the surface.

Geophysical surveys help you give better suggestions to policymakers. They help you make companies more sustainable.

Seeing below the surface allows you to minimize the impact on the environment. In brief, geophysical surveys help you know what is happening below the surface.

Perhaps you must find a contaminant plume and determine its size, movement, or effects on public health.

Maybe you must find the perfect place to build a landfill and manage waste without affecting other areas or animals.

Or perhaps you just want to remediate the mess we humans made when we decided to interact with the soil and water.

To do all that, Cordillera Geo-Services can help you locate the sources of contamination, the natural resources below the surface, or how groundwater affects a particular tank or underground line.

Through exploration methods such as seismic surveys, electrical resistivity surveys, and ground-penetrating radar (GPR), you can characterize the subsurface and generate information about the location, depth, and extent of contaminants, soil and rock properties, and geological structures that will help you design environmental models, solutions and remediation plans.

Don’t just locate contaminants. Instead, understand the environmental impact through 2D and 3D tomographies from the surface and subsurface.

1. REVIEW OF EXISTING GEOPHYSICAL STUDIES

Obtain better interpretations by analyzing all previous explorations.

With Cordillera Geo-Services, you can be sure the understanding of the data will be based not just on current findings but also on prior studies to get better clues of what lies below the surface.

2. SURVEY DESIGN

Pick the right exploration method to get reliable data.

After reviewing existing studies, with the help of Cordillera Geo-Services, you can determine what to look for, the Geophysical Exploration Method needed, and how to survey to collect the data required to locate contaminants, groundwater, or monitor the environment.

3. FIELD GEOPHYSICAL EXPLORATION

Get a better picture of what lies below the surface.

Conducting the survey itself requires great care. With Cordillera Geo-Services on your team, you can be sure the setup will be precise, and all noise sources will be considered so that when you gather data, you get quality assessments.

4. ACCURATE DATA GENERATION

Work with state-of-the-art measuring equipment.

Dr. Hector Hinojosa will make sure the necessary instruments and the right software are in place to generate the data needed to produce 2D or 3D models of the regions explored within the environment.

5. DUAL INTERPRETATION OF DATA

Explore the surface and subsurface from different angles.

Not only does Dr. Hector Hinojosa evaluate existing studies and the data generated from a Geophysical point of view, but he also adds his Geological perspective to the interpretation. This improvement reduces uncertainty and yields robust reports on a particular site.

Applications

  • Site assessment
  • Landfill, waste pits, and trenches delineation
  • Contaminant plume mapping
  • Shallow water table mapping
  • Mapping groundwater pollution
  • Locating Underground Storage Tanks (UST) and drums
    Leaking pipeline detection

Identify buried structures so you can meet required regulations before using land.

GPR

Cordillera Geo-Services conducted a geophysical survey on a historic cemetery using a high-resolution 3D ground penetrating radar (GPR) and delivered the results that confirmed suspicions. This assisted our client in determining the potential extent of the cemetery and its potential impacts on development. Based on the survey, the project was able to proceed and meet regulatory requirements. Cordillera Geo-Services was very professional throughout the project. The results provided clear insights in a technical report.

tomographies

“Not all investigations are sexy. Cordillera Geo-Services helped me assess a 2,000 feet diameter, 40 feet tall, manure pile that had been accumulating since 1930. We began with zero information, and finished with a 3D understanding.

– CORDEL SCHMIDT,

Discover the geological and hydrological processes that shape the soil, distribute waste or change the natural resources.

Through geophysical exploration methods, you can track changes in electrical resistivity or seismic velocities that indicate soil moisture, saturation of minerals, or the presence of contaminants.

When you run a survey with us, you will be able to:

  • Detect the presence of buried structures, such as storage tanks, septic systems, landfills, fertilizer applications, spills, or even animal feedlots.
  • Identify variations in soil composition and determine if remediation efforts are successful or need adjustments.
  • Detect subsurface groundwater, to interpret the behavior of soil, prevent water contamination, or build wells in a sustainable fashion.

Furthermore, with the right exploration methods and interpretation of data, you eliminate:

  • Wrong assumptions of what lies in the subsurface.
  • Unnecessary excavations and unplanned expenses.
  • Accidents due to poor geological assessment.
  • Delays in the exploration.
  • Undetected sources of groundwater, contaminants, or unsuitable soil.

What you get from a free consultation with us:

  • An initial project assessment.

  • Suggested geophysical exploration methods (GPR, ERT, or Magnetometry).

  • Determination of deliverables like 2D or 3D images.

  • Custom roadmap of the exploration, analysis, interpretation, and delivery of results.

  • Plan delivered to your email in a few days.

  • Professional service in English or Spanish.
