What is Borehole Geophysical Logging?
Borehole geophysical logging provides a variety of information that is critical to understanding subsurface conditions. Borehole logging methods are used to measure numerous subsurface geophysical properties in the borehole continuously. Borehole geophysics takes advantage of the higher spatial resolutions at depth by deploying instruments down-hole. The techniques operate in the same way as they would on the surface, with the advantage of providing high-resolution data at depth. Some methods available include:
- Resistivity including short and long normals, SP, and SPR
- EM Induction Conductivity
- Natural Gamma
- Spectral Gamma
- Induced Polarization
- Magnetic Susceptibility
- Caliper
- Optical Televiewer
- Acoustic Televiewer
- Borehole Video Camera
- Borehole Deviation/Trajectory
- Fluid Temperature, Fluid Conductivity
Cordillera Geo-Services can acquire and interpret borehole logging data for the energy, mining, environmental, groundwater, and geotechnical sectors.
